Is the focus of this story going to be more of the mother as an MC?
Yes. The mother will be the main focus. I’m thinking about writing it in her first person. But regardless of POV, she’ll be the one corrupted by the painting, and then she’ll corrupt others.
You might need to start denoting genre for your stories. This seems like its for a difference audience.
It’s for my audience. It’s just a play on similar themes. I’ve done similar things in other stories, Noises being the most obvious because of the POV.

I feel like the Palmers were my big intro into your work and having a ‘Bourne’ style naming convention for at least a couple of other works seems fitting.
