The old site has been crashing a lot lately, and people have been having trouble logging in. It turns out that it was attacked by hackers. They have been repelled. The new site will have more robust defenses against these sorts of attacks. Hopefully, the old site will run smoother now for the last run of its existence. Given all my other troubles, I do have to wonder why someone would attack the site. It’s a crazy world out there. EDIT: I should have mentioned originally, this was an outside attack bombarding the site. Nothing on the inside was accessed.
DDoS = Distributed Denial of Service. Basically, the bad guys use a botnet (a bunch of other connected online devices) to bombard this site with fake traffic. It can overwhelm, if not adequately defended.
Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. This is insane! You’re such a wonderful, weird, generous artist, and it’s bad enough that all of these bigots and cronies in various governments have been screwing up your business with the age verification laws; for somebody else to target you with a DDoS is beyond the pale. Fingers-crossed that your vendors smooth things out on the new site soon and you can resume growing your business to build back up. I can’t express how much sympathy I have for the shit you’ve been going through this year <3

No, it was an attack from the outside. They didn’t access anything protected. Just bombarded the site.
