I am happy to announce that Redoxa from Dirty Mind Comics will illustrate the novel There’s Something in the Water. I’ve waited a long time to find the right fit for this story, and I know Redoxa will bring it to life in his own inimitable way. The sketches below are just rough mockups of a few of the first chapter characters. We expect to release one chapter a month, and we will continue the same schedule with Mothership.

Man I can’t wait for this. I loved this story and those illustrations are gonna be incredible!
I think like everyone else I wasn’t expecting the women to look like that. I do hope they change in the series which they most likely will. I like everything else about it it’s just the women that are off for me. But if they change later then I’ll be fine with it. I do love the other work that Redoxa has done and will give it a chance.
I’m hoping that most of these are pre-exposure to the water that transforms them. Most of these are little chunkier than I would prefer. Wouldn’t want to see fat rolling along with their large breasts as they have sex. That’s just me.

The sketches are not what I expected from the 1950’s Americans. Susy and Patrick looks pretty dark and also hint at them being a mixed race.
The 1950s clothes and props will be added as we move along. These were just early “sketches” to get the characters right.
Been so long since I’ve read this story.. I’ll have to put it on the read (re-read) list.
The sketches (initial renders?) are good looking. Axciv gives off a very Aliens/Giger vibe.
