An update on Redoxa’s projects. 8/4/23 UPDATE

  • Post author:

Update 8/4/23 to the original post: my news isn’t so good this time. I haven’t heard from Redoxa since my last update. His Discord handle (where we had communicated the most) has been deleted. His email no longer exists, everything I send him bounces back. All I can do now is hope that he’s hanging in there and that his health recovers. I don’t know much about his condition, other than that it is life-threatening. Right now, I’m going to continue to wait for his return. Anything is possible. I’ll give him some time to reappear. I haven’t heard definitively that he’s stopped working, so for now I’ll hope to have my friend and collaborator back soon.

UPDATE 6/28/23 to the original post: I have good news to share. Redoxa has been discharged from the hospital where he underwent successful treatment. His prognosis has been upgraded. He’s still resting and recovering, but he may start work again soon. He read all of your messages to him on this page, and it really uplifted him to get that support. Thank you all for your kindness. Hopefully, you’ll start seeing more of his work soon!

Unfortunately, Redoxa’s health has taken a turn for the worse. His condition is serious right now. I wish him the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

He and I wanted to let you know that this will effect all of our collaborative projects. We are putting on hold all his projects for now. That means Something in the Water, Mothership, Aztec, and McAllister Method are all on hold. I will update you when he feels well enough to resume work on some or all of these projects. I hope you’ll join me in wishing him a quick return to full health.

Are there any news at all?

    1. Rawls

No news. I think he may be gone 🙁

    1. Rawls

I have no news. Complete silence from Redoxa and no way to contact him. I still have hope, but it looks like the worst may have happened.

What a bummer. Redoxa is the absolute best 3D artist in taboo. I assume they all use a similar program because a lot of his “competition” looks extremely similar but Redoxa’s work has that extra something. That magic sprinkle. I hope with all my heart he recovers. God speed Redoxa. Thank you for the update

I follow the overall feeling about his speedy recovery and best wishes and I wholeheartlly aggree with Osiris908 statment regarding unloading too many stories over a single ilustrator. Sadly it seems that is a trait in this buissines about trying too many stories and finishing none. Too many names (JabComix i.e) I suggest get a look at Literotica, a lot of good authors know how to close a story. Again this is my 2 cents., you are free to disagree

Redoxa is the only one who works on so many projects at once. He does it because it helps his artistic flow to change up what he was working on. Until he had a life-threatening illness, he never missed a month of production. Yes, it’s frustrating when projects stall. I do my best to pick artists who will stick for the long haul. But even so, things will happen. I can’t control an illness or other life events. I can control my own production, which is as consistent as can be. I churn out multiple chapters a week, week after week. And I finish, many many stories.

That…is not good news. I hope he is just taking time off to recover. In relation to this site, he was illustrating many of your stories and I’ve noticed (not surprisingly) the illustrated portion of new stories has been quite slow since his exit. Not sure if I have a question other than to say his absence has really affected the Rawls universe negatively. I agree that he’s the best (with JD) on your stories but perhaps giving him so many stories (while admittedly awesome bc I love his work) wasn’t the greatest idea? Too many eggs in one basket.

    1. Rawls

Actually, I posted 11 illustrated chapters on the site last month. Production keeps chugging along.

      1. Osiris908

If you say so – ok I won’t disagree. But the fact that all his stories haven’t been updated lately is def a drag on this site. I get it – nothing you can do here, life happens. I again wish him all the best. I still think my point is valid about one illustrator working on so many stories at the same time.

Wow. I’m sure the last thing you want is condolences towards yourself but I’m sorry. Out of all of us you were the most connected with him/her and had such a great thing going with them.

Do you think it will get to the point that you may have to resume these projects with other creators? Sorry if that sounds dumb but ultimately if you still haven’t even heard anything once you do, Redoxa may just want to recover. I’m sure you’ve thought of all of this already. They did have an extra something but these other creators spins would be awesome too. Nonetheless, thanks for all you do.

Yes, Redoxa is a good friend. He’s funny and thoughtful and he works very hard. This has been a sad turn of events for me. I will give him more time to resurface. But yes, eventually I will have to hand off the stories to new artists. It doesn’t look good for his return right now, but anything can happen.

That is disturbing news. He is an amazing artist. I will pray that he recovers and is back doing is awesome work.

    1. cmj15301

I love his work and wish for a speedy recovery.

Some of his artwork is my absolute favorite.

Life happens. While I enjoy this site tremendously, in the end, it’s all just for fun.

Things that are life threatening are going to take priority. Wish him nothing but the best.

I really hope that Redoxa is okay. It’s so scary to lose all contact with a friend, especially in this case when we know that there’s been some intense health problems this year.

  7. MixWizard

This is frightening news. Whether Redoxa returns to draw again or not I hope they are 1) alive, and 2) able to return to full health. Hopefully you hear some good news about them soon!

  8. DM1485

Holy shit, this is turning into a proper mystery…..with plot twists, and everything.

    I hope he’s ok..

  9. Jockster84

When he’s fully recovered & gets his “mojo” back,
hope he starts Next Chapter of “Mothership Wilderness”…
    immediately first…, right away…!!!
If it’s TOO MUCH strain & stress, then ignore the other stuff
& focus ONLY on “Mothership Wilderness”!
ONLY if he’s in the mood to work on it, or better yet, erected enough for it.

  10. DM1485

Holy shit, Hospital? Part of me is still EXTREMELY curious as to what happened, but then the other part reminds me that it’s none of my business, and that his privacy MUST be respected.

That all said, it’s good to hear he’s on the mend…not just because it means maybe more content soon, but because, well, it’s just shitty being sick, or injured (especially if it’s so bad it requires hospitalization).

  11. polotus2328

Good to hear, I hope he gets better soon, and takes his time recuperating.

  12. crazydorian

Very glad to hear the update. Get well soon, Redoxa!

  13. nickstorming

I’m glad you’re doing better, love your art. 🙂

  14. djirp1987

I hope Redoxa makes a speedy and full recovery.

As far as illustrators go, he is my favourite by a country mile.

    Get well soon Redoxa 👍🏻

  15. kadrender

    Wishing him a speedy .

a quick question: will you be continuing the text versions of the story?

    1. Rawls

No, I only write the short stories when there is a new chapter needed by an illustrator. I’ll wait on Aztec and McAllister Method.

  16. Rawls

Redoxa wanted to let you all know that he read all these comments and that he’s grateful for every one of them.

  17. CeeBee42

Wish you well, Redoxa. Take care of yourself, glad you’re putting your health first.

  18. Divway

I wish you a speedy and full recovery Redoxa. I like your art work in the presentation of Raw’s stories. Allt best in your recovery.

    Regards

  19. Lobria

Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry. I hope you get better soon man. Please take care of yourself. Wish well Redoxa.

  20. Thickdick

Heartbreaking to hear, all the best to Redoxa

  21. DM1485

This is most unfortunate. Poor health is a lousy thing, indeed. I hope his condition improves soon.

  22. Anteater

I wish Redoxa well in life and in his future, no matter where it may take him.

I do not mind sending someone best wishes and all that but now I am curious. I do not want to pry or get too personal but when I hear someone’s health is going down, my concern usually has me questioning. What is their condition? This is me just trying to understand the situation.

    1. Rawls

I have already said all I can say on his health.

  23. Anteater

I wish Redoxa well in life and in his future, no matter where it may take him.

  24. cmj15301

    Sorry to hear this.

    Hope he feels better soon
